Anne Graham Lotz has called on Christians to pray after her daughter was hospitalized with two heart attacks.

The granddaughter of Billy Graham, Rachel-Ruth was hospitalized last Saturday night with a heart attack, followed by a catheterization. Then, on Sunday afternoon, she suffered a second heart attack, followed by another catheterization.

Her mom, Anne Graham Lotz, who also had to call for prayers last year after her son, Jonathan, was placed in ICU with Covid, is now deep in prayer for another family member.

“Multiple times I have prayed Psalm 73:26 for people who were struggling with heart issues: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever,” she said on social media.

“I am now driving the stake of my faith down deep into this promise for my daughter, Rachel-Ruth. She was rushed to the hospital on Saturday night with a heart attack, followed by a catheterization. Sunday afternoon, she had a second heart attack, followed by another catheterization. The mystery is that her heart has no blockages which can cause traditional style heart attacks. Hers is a very rare condition one doctor described as a “broken heart syndrome.” There is no known cause.

“As I write this she is still in the hospital and will be for several more days as they continue to run tests. I am urgently asking you to join my family in praying for Rachel-Ruth. Please pray for her heart to stabilize; for accurate diagnosis and treatment; for the doctor’s supernatural wisdom; for peace and comfort for all of us.”

Lotz also shared Psalm 103: “Bless the Lord, O my soul…Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies”.

In July 21, the family announced that the original family home of the late Rev. Billy Graham had to be put up for sale in Montreat to pay for treatment of a rare disease her youngest daughter lives with. “My youngest daughter was diagnosed with a very rare disease that attacks women of childbearing age and there will be some significant medical bills in her future”, Lotz stated last year in an interview.

“I am so grateful that I have this provision that I can make like any mother who would move heaven and earth when your child needs you.”
