Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

By Christian Womanmag

Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of ] all His benefits. —Psalm 103:2

In a few days you will be celebrating a day set aside to give thanks to God for all His blessings. You are probably already making plans and preparations for this special day. As you prepare, begin to think about all the wonderful things God has given you this year.

It might be a good idea to make a list. You won’t be able to think of all your blessings, but you will remember enough to humble you and fill you with gratitude.

Then on Thanksgiving Day don’t allow the activities that are attached to the traditions of Thanksgiving to crowd out the real purpose of the day. Talk about the goodness of God and share about one or two special blessings.

Don’t forget to thank God for life, family, friends, and provisions. Most important, express your special thanks to Him.
