Joni Eareckson Tada has been released from hospital after her ongoing treatment for cancer. She was again diagnosed with cancer last August, followed by surgery in November.

She was taken to hospital late last month, with her ministry, Joni and Friends, reporting at the time, “As many of you know, Joni recently completed a series of radiation treatments for a recurrence of cancer. In the weeks following, Joni has been challenged with significant pain issues, including most recently, difficulty with breathing.

“With these concerns escalating, and Joni’s inability to get the sleep needed for recovery, she has been hospitalized for observation and medical oversight.”

She was released from hospital yesterday, stating, “I just signed my discharge papers and I am… Free! Praising God for healing of my lungs. Fresh air never felt so good!

“God bless you for praying me to this marvelous release after 14 days in the hospital! Onward and upward.

“My song today? “Holy Spirit, you are welcome here, come flood this place and fill the atmosphere. Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for, to be overcome by your presence, Lord!” God is moving in these medical hallways… And I have enjoyed my prayer assignment over the past 14 days here at the hospital!”

It is well known that Joni Eareckson Tada is a seasoned warrior when it comes to dealing with serious health issues. She has endured 51 years of quadriplegia, chronic pain, and a previous battle against stage 3 breast cancer 8 years ago. In 2010, she underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment; and in 2015, she was declared cancer free.
